Selected Dataset

Click on a Dataset in the Dataset List to select it. The Dataset is now highlighted with a smoothly darker grey background color. Selecting a Dataset opens access to the right-click content menu and the Dataset menu in the menubar, which are equal.

Access to the options listed below via the Dataset Menu, or the right-mouse content menu in the Dataset List.

New Dataset …	Create a new dataset using an easy-to-use wizard.
Open Dataset …	Presents the Resource Browser to open a Dataset by adding it to the current Workspace.
Save Dataset	Save object changes
Save All Datasets	Save object changes in all edited datasets in one go.
Save Dataset As …	Save dataset as a new file
Close Dataset	Close the selected Dataset and remove it from your Workspace
Dataset Properties …	View properties of the current selected Dataset.
Attribute Table …	Open Attribute Table View of the current Dataset.
Labels …	Open Labels editor window of the current Dataset
Legend Editor…	Open Legend Editor to edit appearance for the selected Dataset.
Join Tables …	Open Join Tables window to join external data with selected Dataset.
Show Legend Display	Display legend in the Dataset List
SoloView	View the current selected Dataset, temporary hiding all other datasets
Use in Overview Window	Presents the Resource Browser to open a Dataset by adding it to the current Workspace.
Scale limits	Sets scale limits to display the dataset : - Set Current as Largest Scale: Zoom In limited to current Map View Window zoom. - Set Current as Smallest Scale : Zoom Out is limited to current Map View Window zoom. - Remove Scale Limits : do not apply limits for this dataset
Arrange	Change the sequence of drawing datasets

Note:
Some menu options may be disables in some situations, for example :

1. 'Show Legend Display' is disabled for Image resources.
2. 'Legend Editor …' and 'Show Legend Display' are disabled for vector resources until they are first visualized.

The Dataset Toolbar presents the most commonly used functions :

: Open, Close, Save All, Dataset Properties.

Every Dataset has private properties of which some can be edited by the user. Use the Dataset Properties editor.

Shows the Attribute Table in the Properties window.

Shows the Labels editor in the Properties window. Edit the Labels definition or create new Labels.

For each dataset, a legend can be defined by the user. Open the Legend Editor and define your legend preference.

Opens the Table Join definition panel in the Properties window. View, edit or create the join definitions for external tables.

This toggle sets the display of the legend in the Dataset List on and off.

This toggle specifies a “Solo View” behavior of the Dataset.

The visibility of the dataset in the Overview Window is manipulated through the Dataset Menu. The visibility of the Overview Window is altered in the View Menu. Default, the Overview Window is visible.

Scale Limits can be imposed on a Dataset to restrict viewing of the data within a scale range. Zooming outside the scale range will render the Dataset invisible, regardless its visibility setting. Its name will appear italic in the Dataset List.

• Set current scale as Largest : Defines the most detailed view limit of the scale range. Zoom In is limited to this scale. The Dataset Properties are automatically adjusted.
• Set current scale as Smallest ; Defines the overview limit of the scale range. Zoom out is limited to this scale. The Dataset Properties are automatically adjusted.
• Removing the scale limits: The scale range is cleared and scale limits are no longer imposed. The dataset will be drawn at all scales.

Change the sequence in which the datasets are drawn. The map image is generated from bottom to top, drawing the top dataset on top of every other. You can change the sequence by dragging a dataset up and down in the list or by using one of these menu options :

• Bring to Front = place on top
• Bring Forward = move to one position higher
• Send Backward = move to one position lower
• Send to Back = move to lowest position
