3D Mapping Data Preparation and Import Templates

This page contains the ready-to-use Orbit 3D mapping import templates and overview how to prepare your data for import.
It is strongly recommended to read first Concepts about Mobile Mapping data in Orbit.

Add Template to Orbit

Generic Import Templates are by default available.
Download and unzip other Templates from this page and add via the Add Template while using Import Run\Import Oblique Project procedure, first step Create Run, see Import 3D Mapping Data.

In the versions up to 18.0.4 to add a template for an Oblique Project:

  1. Copy the template to following directory
    <Orbit installation directory>/program/ext/obliques/project/template/
  2. Restart Orbit
  3. Select and use template via Import Project.

Starting from version 18.0.5 templates can be added as described above through GUI while importing Oblique Project.

In addition to the above listed Vendor Adapted Templates, Custom Templates (Mobile Mapping, Oblique or UAS) can be created to import any combination of supported 3D Mapping resources.
A Custom Import Template corresponding to your 3D Mapping System simplifies all future imports.
