Data Preparation and Import Templates
This page gives an overview on the Orbit oblique mapping import templates and how to prepare your data for import.
Download and add templates to your Orbit installation and start importing.

An Orbit import template is a predefined set configurations, containing all technical details of the oblique mapping system. A template is exactly configured according a given setup, used sensors and available resources. This technique simplifies and standardizes the workflow to import a well known set of data.
Add your Template to Orbit
Only the generic Orbit import templates are included in a clean Orbit installation.
Download and add your preferred templates :
- Download the required template below.
- Unzip and copy the parent template folder to :
- Desktop Standalone : <Orbit installation directory>/program/ext/obliques/project/template/
- Desktop Client/Server or Publisher : <Orbit installation directory>client/program/ext/oblqiues/project/template/
- Restart Orbit to get access to the newly copied template, Import Oblique data in Orbit
Generic Templates

Orbit supports any coordinate system (crs) for photo positions.
The generic import templates are prepared for WGS84 coordinates (geographical, decimal notation, EPSG 4326).
Depending your oblique camera system or configuration, the outcome may be different from WGS84 (e.g. UTM).
The used crs is defined via the import template and can be customized if required (contact support at orbitgis dot com).

Create Your own template
In addition to the above listed templates the Orbit engine offers all configuration possibilities to customize the import for using any combination of supported oblique mapping resources. Once the configuration is known, it can be added as new import template to extremely simplify all future imports.
