Import data from Cyclomedia webservice

It is strongly recommended to read first the general information about mobile mapping data in Orbit :

Cyclomedia Account

Orbit supports the Cyclomedia Atlas Web-service. The so called Cyclorama's can be used like other Mobile Mapping resources.

One must have a login and password from Cyclomedia to get access to the Cyclomedia service.
Orbit provides a dedicated import wizard to establish the connection and to enter the credentials.

Since there is no point cloud available measurements are only possible using triangulation : Measurements in 2 Panoramas using Triangulation

Network and Webservice communication

To use Cyclomedia imagery in Orbit, Orbit needs to be able to communicate with Cyclomedia webservice :

Communication for needs to be possible trough Orbit, not only for internet browser.
Contact your IT administrator to adjust these network and firewall setting on your end if required.

Import Run

After completing the import the run will be available for the administrator to open or add to a mobile mapping projects.

Open the procedure “Import Run”
Procedures > Administration > Mobile Mapping > Import Run

The import procedure consists out of 2 consecutive wizards :

  1. Create a new Orbit Run
  2. Import data according the selected template
    The available steps in the second wizard depend on the selected import template / the type of mobile mapping data you are using.

Create Run

Account

Enter account details to access the online Cyclomedia Atlas service.

  1. Username
  2. Password
  3. Year Mask: Enter the year or year range you would like to unlock in the mobile mapping run.
    • Empty : The current available year will be unlocked.
    • Year : e.g. “2012”; the specified year (2012) will be unlocked.
    • Year range : e.g. “2010-2012” The range of years (2010, 2011 and 2012) will be unlocked.
  4. Click the “Save Credentials” button to confirm and save Username and Password.
