Legend Editor : Basic Appearance

Open the Legend Editor Basic Appearance

  • from menu : Datasets > Legend Editors… > Basic Appearance
  • right-click menu in the Dataset List : right-click dataset > Legend Editor… > Basic Appearance

Choose the Model for which you want to edit the Legend. The displayed graphic parameters are in correspondence with the Spatial Type of the chosen Model.

Points

When the Spatial Type is a Point, a symbol is used as graphic appearance. Symbols can be vector, text or image-based.

In Orbit, symbols are chosen from a Symbol Library and specifications such as color and size are set. To define symbols, check out the chapter about Symbol Libraries. Colors are irrelevant for image-based symbols.

Parameter Use to
Symbol Library Select a symbol library
Name Select a Symbol from the symbol library
Symbol Size Enter a symbol size and select a size unit (point on screen, mm on paper, meter on scale)
Symbol Fill Color Choose a fill color for filled symbols
Symbol Outline Color Choose an outline color for the symbol outline
Transparency Set the transparency percentage of the symbol from opaque to completely transparent

Click on the “Edit All Parameters” button to edit All Symbol Parameters.

Lines

Parameter Use to
Line Visibility Tick to activate the line visibility and show lines in the map view
Line Color Choose a line color
Line Width Enter a line width and select a size unit (point on screen, mm on paper, meter on scale)
Line Style Select a Line Style
Style Length Enter a style_length and select a size unit (point on screen, mm on paper, meter on scale)

Click on the “Edit All Parameters” button to edit All Line Parameters.

Areas

Parameter Use to
Fill Area Tick to activate the area fill visibility and show filled areas in the map view
Fill Color Choose a fill color for areas
Fill Transparency Set the transparency percentage of the fill color from opaque to completely transparent
Outline settings Identical settings as for a Line


Click on the “Edit All Parameters” button to edit All Area Parameters.

Color and Grayscale Image

For Color and Greyscale images :

Parameter Comment
Image Transparency Set the transparency percentage of the whole image from opaque to completely transparent
Transparent Color Use Tick to activate the use of a transparent color in the image
Transparent Color Choose a transparent color
Transparent Color Margin Enter the acceptable deviation of the transparent color (0-255)
Sharpen Image See Wikipedia Unsharp masking
Grayscale Set the color image to grayscale

Image Adjustment :

Parameter Comment
Brightness Set the image brightness. See Wikipedia Brightness
Contrast Set the image contrast. See Wikipedia Contrast
Saturation Set the image saturation. See Wikipedia Saturation
Compare Click to see the image in default values, click again to view the image in chosen specifications
Reset Reset the image adjustment specification to the default values


The “Edit All Parameters” button is disabled since these are the only parameters to set for image data.

Black and White Image

For Black & White images : the 'black' and 'white' pixels are considered 'foreground' and 'background'

Parameter Comment
Background Transparency Set the transparency percentage of the background color from opaque to completely transparent
Background Color Choose a color for the image background
Foreground Transparency Set the transparency percentage of the foreground color from opaque to completely transparent
Foreground Color Choose a color for the image foreground

The “Edit All Parameters” button is disabled since these are the only parameters to set for image data.
