Orbit Vector File Tiled

An Orbit Vector file Tiled (*.ovt) is Orbit's native tiled vector file storage format.
An OVT stores spatial objects (geometry), attribute information and indexes on both components.

Structure and Reasons to use

An Orbit Vector file Tiled is similar to an Orbit Vector File but has extended data structure capabilities and indexes on spatial and attribute component.
This file format is platform independent and optimized for fast viewing and querying of vector data, but geometry and attributes cannot be edited.

How to Create and Update

An opened vector dataset can be exported via the dataset contect menu into an OVT, a selection of vector objects via the object inspector.
An OVT cannot be edited. To update geometry or attributes an export to OVF is required. Adjust and convert back into OVT.

Legend and Georeference

Optionally an OVT can be accompanied by an Orbit Legend, Orbit Resource Descriptor and Projection Definition File.
