3DM Manage and Extract

AI Analysis Fine Tuning

  • Orthophoto Segmentation 2D now a possible with AI Detection.
  • The 'Annotation Editor' from the procedure step 'Manage Annotations' can now be opened.
  • The image type (original or processed) per snapshot of an Asset Object is now stored.
  • Import Image Annotations' and 'Import Orthophoto Annotations can now be done from the Annotation Sidebar.
  • Image Annotations are now copied when using in the Delivery sidebar.
  • An automatic update of the Analysis Engine's python package will take place when a new version is installed.

AI Training on Multiple Reality Data

  • Its now possible to read and write SceneList files.

Convert and Import new Data types

  • Its is now possible to open an 'XYZ Tile Map' resource in the workspace.
  • The Tool Create Tile Map has been modified to create an OTM and ORD file.
  • The Local Catalog now more compatible with 'XYZ Tile Map' resources.
  • XYZ Tile Map resources are now compatible with the 3DM Cloud upload.
  • XYZ Tile Map resource are now compatible with Reality Management upload.
  • Zoom to Extent and relevant scale now works for 'XYZ Tile Map' resources.

2D Annotation to Reality Analysis

  • COCO datasets have been extended to save attributes per annotation.
  • Its not possible to import 2D annotations into Mapping Resources and also specify cameras from the Mapping Resource directory.
  • Its now possible to also import attributes per annotations with the extend COCO structure.
  • An enhanced tooltip will be present if there are multiple images with the same name from different directories.

Convert TomTom Point Cloud Data

  • Its now possible to read calibration parameters from SQLite file.
  • Photos can you be extracted from SQLite format (TomTom).

DAR Compliance

  • Snapshot creation and querying for DAR Service is now possible.
  • Snapshot for DAR service are created when now Initiating a training from the AI Training sidebar.
  • The display name of a data agreement can now been shown.

Import & Improve Reality Data Interoperability

  • Its now possible to import classification from text file to OPC file.
  • When converting Mesh to Point Cloud, a new option Per unit' to source option 'Point Origin' is also available.
  • A 3DTiles of an iModel is now possible to download on local storage.
  • Loading a Geospatial Index now must be triggered by the user in the iTWin Catalog menu.
  • Imperial compound CRS will now be suggested to Metric equivalants.
  • When creating a mapping resource, its now possible to import a TXT of INI file for camera calibrations.
  • Lineage is now removed when generating a new Mapping Resource template.
  • The team members of an iTwin in the 'iTwin Catalog' tab are now shown in a subtab.
  • The information shown in the “iTwin Catalog” sidebar is depending now on the visible selection in the tab “iTwin Catalog”.
  • An Australia-2 3DM Cloud datacenter has now been created.
  • Desktop now supports both API versions of the Reality API Services.
  • Reality Modeling jobs be now shown in main tab “iTwin Catalog”.
  • To reflect Reality Management behaviour, the Local Catalog table sorting is now Single click.

New Measurements, Tools, and Additions

  • A new Strike and Dip Measurement tool has now been added.
  • A new preset configuration is now made for the Strike & Dip measurment.
  • The Strike and Dip calculation of the end line has been modified.
  • The Dip measure output result in the Strike and Dip has been renamed to Cross Slope.
  • A new Tool 'Join on Closest Distance' has been created.
  • A new Tool 'Calculate Height Above Ground' has been created.
  • Lat, Long, and Timestamp attributed are now added to Clearance Checker Results.
  • Improvements for the tool 'Create Tile Map' have been made:
    • A new subfolder is created a the target location.
    • An OTM file is added to the Dataset list.
    • OTM levels can be set via a dropdown list.
      • default level for 1 is top, 14 is bottom, and a max of 22 levels.
  • A new procedure “Create Point Clouds” within the Generate Data options is available for Asset Resources.

Resolve CRS Issues

  • The GDA2020 (Australia) Geoid has been added into CRS Library.
  • The South Africa 2010 Geoid has been added.

SSO Bentley IMS using OIDC

  • The Reality Management Sidebar now checks permissions with the Access Control API.
  • Desktop now avoids using the ConnectionClient as much as possible and using Bentley IMS login for token-related calls.
  • Environment variables are now set up via Orbit configuration file.
  • There has been a reduction in the number of API requests to User API Service when retrieving user information.
  • The sidebar 'AI Training' now verify Reality Data permissions.

Streamline Reality Management Integration

  • The metadata field 'Copyright' is now renamed to 'Attribution'.
  • A 'Terms of Use' metadata field is now created.
  • Key metadata fields will also be mapped and updated to Reality Management Portal

    • Capture/Date Start –> Acquisition start
    • Capture/Date Stop –> Acquisition end

  • Its now possible write from point_cloud.write.options.ini instead of Convert Sidebar Settings.
  • If a point_cloud.write.options.ini file is present in a target directory, it will now be used instead of the sidebar settings.
  • During multiple conversions, the latest settings are now kept in memory instead of sorting to the default settings.
  • Up to 3 memory actions can be saved in Convert/Optimize Point Cloud sidebars.
  • Optional Tooltips can now be on table headers.
  • Row selections now automatically happen via rick clicks on tables.
  • A context button is now added in tables to show all the available options on selected data.
  • An Open Sidebar option is now available see Resource Details.

Maintenance

  • The default value for Orbit configuration file to is now changed to orbit.ini.
  • The Query Builder now only shows the applicable datasets in the drop down.
  • The “Upload” Toolbar is renamed to “Cloud”.
  • The AI Detection Preference panel no longer has a Detection link, but the will now update revelant AI Detectors in from the AI Detector subtab option “Sync Cloud Libarary”.
  • The Pole Attachments detectors can now Print Pole properties with Pole Top and Pole Bottom.
  • The radio buttons are removed when using Delegate to Task Manager and Start Now.
  • There is now a proper license check “script” to all executable tools.
  • Cloud datacenters are now sorted alphabetically in the sidebar '3DM Cloud.
  • Canceling an point cloud from Mapping Resource import process is again possible.
  • The fallback Z value for the tool “Convert Objects to 3D” can now be changed.
  • All redirects from Manage & Extract to KB have been updated.
  • Its now possible to parse an OWFS Service without a type attribute.
  • Rail detection Orbit Orientation Roll values have now been documented on the KB.
  • Fixed an inconsistency in OPC levels with LSQLite datsets.
  • When hosting WFS2 of Feature class, the WFS3 client is now used instead of direct Postgres database.
  • The Conversion workerapp has been updated with new messages and output formats of LAS, E57, and POD.
  • From the Convert/Optimzie Sidebar, Pixel Size has bene renamed to Pixel Depth.
  • All menu items in the iTwin menu are now listed.
  • Improvements to table sorting now include a sorting arrow to the right hand side of the text.
  • Irrelevant table column sorting sorting is no longer possible.
  • When choosing a source directly, its now possible to choose the Point Cloud Block Size.
  • The Local Catalog now properly syncs with resource selection in the sidebar.

  • Fix a bug where Image annotations could not be created from auto-generated image snapshots of processed images.
  • Fixed a bug where iModel Exports were no longer displayed in Map GL.
  • Fixed a bug where AI-Detection failed on TomTom data.
  • Fixed a bug where Point Height to Horizontal Reference Plane saves an incorrect Object.
  • Fixed a bug where Point Data (Vector) disappears within Point Cloud clipping bounds.
  • Fixed a bug where using Drag & drop folder with LSQLITE files would not work.
  • Fixed a bug where conditions in Query Builder were cleared if a dataset was made visible or invisible in the dataset list.
  • Fixed a bug where there was a lag when user tries to perform a Point measurement.
  • Fixed a bug where the Attribute Table window hangs after changing the structure of the dataset.
  • Fixed a bug where changing tags in Metadata tab reset the previous metadata field changes.
  • Fixed a bug where a 'LOD tree' resource was not recognizing all files during an upload.

Improve Feature Service support

  • Its now possible to show Feature Class geometry and dimension.

  • There is now support for XYZTileMap to 3DM Cloud Viewer

Itwin-Centric Integration into 3DM Cloud

  • Add iTwin Browser has been added into 3DM Viewer.
  • Add iTwin Browser has been added into 3DM Viewer.
  • There has now been a migration from RBAC to the Access Control API.
  • Automatic Linking of Reality Data in the Cloud is now possible.

Streamline Reality Management Integration

  • Resource Metadata will now Sync from Resource .ord.
  • There is a two-way sync from Reality Management and 3DM Cloud with specific fields:
    • Name
    • Description
    • Tags
    • Acquisition Start and Stop (collection start and stop)
    • Acquirer (collection operator)
    • CRS
    • Terms of Use
    • Attribution
  • The 3DM Cloud will not update metadata with empty strings from Reality Management properties or Resource .ord.

Maintenance

  • The Create and Verify Sidebar will now open the available resource if workspace is saved with this sidebar open.
  • The orbitgt.com website has been replaced with a static dump.
  • Resource Lineage information is now limited to Cloud Resource Managers.
  • Indoor Metadata fields to Reality Management now does not synch.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that blocked all Publisher SKD examples from the Knowledge Base.
  • Fixed a bug where the Change Password URL was not working.
  • Fixed a bug where the Table search is cleared unexpectedly.
  • Fixed a bug where the specs and tags could not be opened.
  • Fixed a bug where Resource Group Specs and Metadata Setup opens a blank Page.
  • Fixed a bug where the time Increment was indexed differently than the Reality Data.

Publisher

Maintenance

  • Fixed a usability issues with Point Cloud intensity values, and ranges.
  • Tooltips for Publisher Console Color Icons have been added.
  • Unwanted Exceptions from Logfile have been removed.
  • Publisher publication names are now case insensitive.
  • Publication logo will now be centered in available space, not fill the available space.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where the Inspector wildcard search fails on ODB resources.
  • Fixed a bug where the Sidebar errored when using Drag-and-drop Resource with classification.colors.json.
  • Fixed a bug where it was not possible to use the snapshot service on a run with original images.
  • Fixed a bug when opening usage or reports page of a publication when logging is not on.

3DM Viewer

Enhance Timeline Configurations

  • A new Open-or-in-focus marker now appears from the timeline dropdown.
  • A 'No Data“ placeholder is shown when no time instances are available based on the workspace extent and resource availably.

Feature Creation Workflow Improvements

  • The Inspector and Measurement sidebar have been modified for quicker Feature Selection and Extraction.
  • Add inspector pager to was added to the measure sidebar.
  • In the inspector:
    • Resources are alphabetical
    • always respect the “reference view focus” when set
    • Can delete after selecting an object
    • Can make a measurment after copying a feature
  • In the Measure Sidebar
    • Add the “Objects” titled panel with pager from the Inspector sidebar
    • the pager is clickable, allowing the user to select an object index to focus on
  • An added setting for Select on Copy is now available.
  • Selecting newly copied features is now configurable.

Improve Footprint Visualization

  • A Child footprint label will now only visualize when its inside the envelope.

Improve User Experience

  • Opening a WFS 2.0 resource is quicker after it has loaded once (XSD schemas are cached).
  • The use of classification.colors.json is now possible within a Mapping Resource.

New Measurement Technique

  • The Strike & Dip measurement function is also added to the Web Viewer.

Snap to Vector Data

  • There are now options to snap to Vector Data within the Viewer.

Maintenance

  • The Slice View orientation when focusing on a line object is now perpendicular and orients to the centroid of the line.
  • Symbol outline color and fill symbology are added to Point features.
  • WMTS Filter GetTile URL's on encoding type (only look at KVP)
  • A photo will now more quickly immediately open on photo position click.
  • Panorama Images as background context for Planar Images has been disabled.
  • Its now possible to change the number of decimals to view data in Inspector sidebar.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug where a classified point cloud would not render from classification until the legend setting is changed.
  • Fixed a bug with setting query arguments for WMTS.
  • Fixed a bug where the rotation of Views was no longer working with Oblique Resources.
  • Fixed a bug where it was not possible to add objects to 2D feature class from Web Viewer.
  • Fixed a bug where the timeline was leading to performance degradation.
  • Fixed a bug where Oblique Field-of-View always rendered as Pie Slice.
  • Fixed a bug where the Search option was disabled on existing publications.
  • Fixed a bug where the point cloud download fails from the Viewer.
  • Fixed a bug where Mesh data was not visible when re-opening inside same session.
  • Fixed a bug where it was not possible to move 3D View by dragging icon on Reference View.
  • Fixed a bug where the orientation of images appears different between Desktop and Viewer.
  • Fixed a bug where the Viewer uses more than one Session.

3DM Viewer SDK

The 3DM Viewer SDK includes all 3DM Viewer improvements.

Add SDK workspace state startup

  • The 'onWorkspaceStateChanged' signal is added
  • A startup option 'Constants.STARTUP_WORKSPACE_STATE' has been added.
  • Add example to demonstrate workspace state changes is added on the knowledge base.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where Slice Thickness stays on default thickness.
