Photo Annotations

This page documents the 3DM Viewer Photo Annotation Sidebar.

Concepts

With the Release of Version 25.00.03, the new Photo Annotation Sidebar can also save photo annotations in the cloud. This allows for an increased production rate, given data can now be annotated from any location. The annotation results can be downloaded and imported back into the original resources using 3DM Manage & Extract.

Resource

Select the available resource containing photos to use within the sidebar.

Camera

Select the camera within the resource. If more than one is available, choose the applicable camera type.

Download

Download all photo annotations and generate a Coco file.
For import back into desktop, the resource name in the cloud must match the local resource name.

Photo

Choose a photo to open up the dedicated Photo Annotation View mode and sidebar.
The sidebar contains the following sections and the features:

Photo

  • Name of Photo within the View
  • Photo type
    • Original
    • Processed
  • Navigate forward or backward in increments of 1 to 5 photos.

Edit Tools

Select by Annotation Type. The available annotations types are Rectangle (2D Object) and Polygon (2D Segmentation).

Annotations

This section will display annotation type, and class. Also, individual annotations can be deleted (Delete) or all can be cleared (Clear). During the creation of annotations, the Annotation section will automatically populate within the sidebar.

Photo View

Created annotations are drawn on the photo view. After selecting and creating a rectangle or polygon, the annotation can be named, edited from vertices, or optionally deleted.

Quick navigation keystrokes will apply if the Photo View is in focus.
