This tool can be used to convert the storage format of Image datasets.
Three parameters have to be determined
The “browse” button helps to locate a image file in the file system
Orbit supports the conversion to various image formats. One can find and select them in the image Format box.
These can be divided in two categories
When an image format is selected, the destination location and the name of the image file will be set identically as those of the original file. Only the format will be different.
One can edit the destination path and name either with the “browse” button, or by manually editing.
According to the chosen format, one can set a few parameters that are related with the conversion.
Choose the number of bits that one pixel can use.
Choose between a gray image or a coloured one. Determine also the compression factor.
Orbit use the standard conversions, there are no options.
One can select the way the image is showed. With or without interlacing.
Select the quality of the created image.
choose the pixelsize and the compression. Extra parameters are applicable for grey images.
