Orbit GIS now offers improved support for the EOS Server system. This version requires EOS 3.0 or higher (check EOS compatibility for future releases).
A new feature is the capability of creating annotations and redlining. Your annotations can be saved separately and are georeferenced. You can easily email an annotation layer to a college who can view the annotations exactly the way you intended.
You can also include annotations in your printouts and when saving your map view as an image for embedding in documentation, reports, presentations or email messages.
Editing tools allow modification and creation of spatial objects, both the spatial component as the attribute component.
New Dataset Properties tools allow the creation of new datasets and the design of their structure, attributes, naming, rules and more.
Construction Tools allow the calculation of exact positions, to be used in other processes such as the editing and correction of your spatial data.
The presentation of Dataset properties has been re-engineered. You now get a much clearer view of the structure and contents of a dataset.
The Attribute Table View allows you now to view, sort, browse, select and export dataset attributes.
The definition of a Legend using the Legend Editor is dramatically improved. It is now much easier to define a legend and make a classification, and add labels.
Point and Line displays can now use symbols from easy-to-create symbol libraries : just drop some images is a zip file, rename the zip file to <MySymbols>.osl and drop the file under the symbols subfolder of your Orbit Explorer or Orbit GIS installation. Orbit will automatically recognize your symbol library at startup.
The Orbit Symbol Library can also contain vector symbols or text symbols (see formats descriptors elsewhere).
You can now add descriptive dataset and attribute names to be used within Orbit GIS. The introduction of a Primary Attribute allows fast identification of objects using the Object Inspector.
The Object Inspector now allows more complete viewing of object details.
