By default OFM assumes all mapping data is measured in meters.
You can customize how OFM describes the system unit and multitudes of it by using the following tag in the UI Configuration file.
The UnitDescription tag describes how OFM describes map units. You can follow the example and provide a name and abbreviation for the system units and add a number of Sub-units.
Example (default : assumes 1 system unit == 1 meter)
<UnitDescription> <System> <Abbr>m</Abbr> <Name>meters</Name> </System> <SubUnit> <SysUnits>1000</SysUnits> <Abbr>km</Abbr> <Name>kilometers</Name> </SubUnit> </UnitDescription>
Example2 (assumes 1 system unit == 1 foot)
<UnitDescription> <System> <Abbr>ft</Abbr> <Name>foot</Name> </System> <SubUnit> <SysUnits>3</SysUnits> <Abbr>yd</Abbr> <Name>yard</Name> </SubUnit> <SubUnit> <SysUnits>5280</SysUnits> <Abbr>mi</Abbr> <Name>mile</Name> </SubUnit> </UnitDescription>
