Timeouts

There are 2 timeouts involved when loading the OFM Flash component.

  1. Settings Timeout : This timeout defines the timeout when loading any configuration files and defaults to 25000ms. It can be configured using a FlashVar named OFM_SETTINGS_TIMEOUT.
  2. Map/Server Timeout : This timeout defines the timeout used when contacting the server (ex.: loading a view) and defaults to 25000ms. It can be configured using the System/Timeout tag of the map configuration file.
Note on Mozilla-based browsers :

Timeout settings are especially important when using firefox, since it may happen the browser doesn't notify the Flash player when a resource can't be found. So when you don't add a UI configuration file to your setup, the component may hang for 25 seconds; To solve this, you can override the OFM_SETTINGS_TIMEOUT FlashVar and set it to a very low value (1000 for example).
