You require to install EOS while having administrator rights to your machine. The installation includes the registration of EOS as a permanent Service in your operating system. For Windows systems, you require at least Windows2000 having service capabilities.
In the program menu, options appear to run the EOS Console, the JDSA or Java Data Source Administrator, and options to manage the EOS Service.
You should change the administrator login settings immediately to prevent unauthorized persons to login.
An Administrator can use EOS Console to administer the server and nothing else.

Default, EOS runs on port 1100. When installing EOS as a service using InstallService.exe, this is the port that is assigned to communicate with EOS.
If you require EOS to run on a different port, set the portnumber in the properties BEFORE installing it as a service. For more information, check the Installation Parameters.
