Publishing Services
Publication services are services provided by the Orbit EOS server that enable the Web Client to function. These can be for example wms, tms, wfs or more specific Mobile Mapping or Obliques Publishing services.
The following relates to Mobile Mapping Publisher and Obliques Publisher.
Publication Management Service
The Publication Management Service supports management of Publications (using EOS Console) and also provides a publication description to Orbit Web Clients when they ask for it.
Publication
A Publication describes which data an Orbit Web Client should use and how to present it. For example it describes which Mobile Mapping or Obliques projects and according datasets to present. It also defines whether datasets should be visible on the map and/or the panorama viewers. For more information about managing a Publication, see the EOS Console documentation.
Orbit Web Client Component
The Orbit Web Client component is a software component capable of using the Orbit Publishing Services. A Web Client is also strongly tied to the Publication Management service. Using a Web Client always starts with opening a Publication.
Orbit Web Client API
The Orbit Web Client API is the programming interface made available by the Web Client Component. It enables integration of the Web Client component into a third party product or website. All functions described by the API are available across all supported platforms.
