Objects to be registered
The aim of the project is to register all car license plates and faces of persons on the panoramic imagery.
There are some basic rules explained for each type of registration:
Car License Plates
GENERAL RULE:
As long as a car (not license plate) or trailer is larger (in width) than [Rectangle Small], the license plate needs to be registered.
As long as a car (not license plate) or trailer is larger (in width) than [Rectangle Small], the license plate needs to be registered.
Take into account:
- license plates are on every car, trailer, mostly centered on car bumper
- All license plates that are close-by need to be registered! Use the “Rectangle Free” if license plate is not complete covered by “Rectangle Big”.
- If license plate cannot be localized, use “Rectangle Big” to register complete bumper.
- Be aware that cars can suddenly appear at the side of your screen.
- Use correct box (Rectangle small/big), to have best fit but always complete cover of license plate.
Faces of people
GENERAL RULE: every visible person (face) needs to be registered.
- All cars driving, have a driver, so face at driver seat needs to be registered! Rule: as long as a front window is higher than [Square Small], the driver needs to be registered.
- All cars parked, generally don't have a driver, so no need to register, except if face of people is visible.
- All visible persons (faces) in cars need to be registered.
Take into account that persons (mostly) appear:
- on bicycles
- on pavement
- in car windows:
- driving cars: as long as a front window is heigher than [Square Small], the driver needs to be registered.
- visible passengers needs to be registered.
- parked cars: if face is visible, person needs to be registered.
- persons in garage boxes, near cars
- near construction sides (renovation or building of a house)
- in windows (first, second, … floor)
- on a balcony
- near shops, restaurants, parking spaces, busstations, etc.
- use correct box (Square Small/Big) for best fit but complete cover. For people close-by use Square Big.
