======Georeferencing point cloud using Control points===== ==== Step by step ==== * Create or open a mapping resource containing a point cloud * Local Catalog > right click on the mapping resources and choose to georeferenced the point > “Georeference resources” {{:recordings:tutorials:videos:1.png?950}} * Under "Manage" choose > "Ground control points" > add the points (ovf/ovt format). Convert to ovf/ovt if needed > [[recordings:tutorials:videos:optimize_vectors|]] {{ :recordings:tutorials:videos:2.png?350 |}} * Under "Tools" > "Georeference" > "Point cloud" option > "Preferences" > "3D Hover and Measurements" > select “Point cloud flat surface intersection” {{ :recordings:tutorials:videos:3.png?900 |}} * Under "Tools" > "Georeference" > "Point cloud" > click each reference point in the “Georeference Point cloud Tab” using “Measure New Resource” {{ :recordings:tutorials:videos:4.png?250 |}} * Choose a Method transformation > optimal for point cloud could be “Orthonormal XY” {{ :recordings:tutorials:videos:5.png?300 |}} * Save the transformation * A new textfile with the georeference details will be made and saved under the same path as the location of the georeferenced > orbit_mapping_run.georeference.oxml. Deleting this file will delete the georeference. {{ :recordings:tutorials:videos:6.png?250 |}} * Under "Manage" choose > [[dev:desktop_ext:consolidation|]] to create a new georeferenced mapping resource ==== Reference Documentation ==== * [[recordings:tutorials:videos:how_to_create_a_new_mobile_run_in_ContentManager|]] * [[recordings:tutorials:gettingstarteddesktop:openrun|]] * [[dev:desktop:tools/georeference_data|]] * [[dev:desktop_ext/ground_control_points]]
