| Open Workspace | Reads and opens a workspace file from your local file system. Restores all settings. |
| Open Dataset | Use the Resource Browser to select a spatial resource from your local file system or remote server and add it to your dataset list allowing you to visualize the data. |
| Set preferences | determine your preferences for a range of functions in this application. |
| Show/Hide dataset | Set the visibility of a dataset. |
| Select Object | Selects a spatial object to highlight or inspect its properties in detail |
| Select Legend | Open or edit a legend file to define the graphical representation of your dataset |
| Show in Overview | Displays the dataset in the Overview window |
| Legend Display | The graphic representation or the chosen symbolics defined by a legend definition. Appears in the dataset list and optionally on a printout. |
| Zoom functions | User control of the map view |
| Solo View | Displays only the selected dataset in the map view window |
