Find this button on the tools sidebar via constructions. For information on construction points, see constructions, for information on scaling and CRS, see statusbar. **Step 2 : Import image from GoogleEarth** Open on the main toolbar 'extensions' and choose for 'Import from Google...'. If a construction point was used in a way to cover the location, activate 'paste position' to copy scale and position (construction point) of your mapcanvas. Bear in mind that you don't move/zoom in your mapcanvas before the final GoogleEarth image is pasted in OrbitGIS. Then click on 'Open GoogleEarth'... (if GoogleEarth is installed on your pc). **Step 3 : copy the GoogleEarth image** Copy the image (Edit < Copy Image or Ctrl+Alt+C) in the GoogleEarth application (without pan or zoom action!). Clean up the GoogleEarth image if necessary (e.g., deselect the temporary location). **Step 4 : put the GoogleEarth image in your OrbitGIS dataset list** Select 'read clipboard' in the Orbit 'Import from Google' window and save the image. A copy of the GoogleEarth image will appear in your OrbitGIS dataset list.
