====== Camera Pitch Angle Adjusting ====== ===== Preparations ===== - Set up the drone and mount a camera. - Set up and switch on the md-base station + PC. - Open the mdCockpit Downlink decoder program. - Switch on the RC. - Switch on the drone and the camera. - Check the downlink connection to the md-base statation. {{:orbitgis_extensions_mi:airborn_mapping:tutorials:camera_tilt_frame01.png?nolink&800|}} ===== Determination of the Tilt angle ===== - Set the camera manually (shift button H + throttle) to look exactly 90° downwards. - Open the ‘Technical’ tab (F3) in the mdCockpit Downlink decoder. - Read the value of ‘Cam. P’. \\ (This is the value needed to set the CSS parameter in the waypoint editor). - Invert the value if you will use the Orbit GIS Flightplan Wizard software. ===== Setting the vertical down Angle in Orbit Flightplan wizard ===== - Type the determined and inverted Camera Pitch Angle (= CSS parameter) in the ‘Vertical down angle’ field. - Complete the entire flight schedule and save it as .a ‘_WPLIST.txt’-file. {{camera_tilt_frame02.png?nolink|}} ===== Checking and Fine tuning ===== **Preparation** - Read the CSS value and the checksum in the created ‘_WPLIST.txt’-file. - Create in a text editor a new waypoint script: \\ CWP 1,152 \\ CSS , \\ TIM 50,100 - Save the waypoint script as a ‘_WPLIST.txt’-file to the micro SD-Card. {{:orbitgis_extensions_mi:airborn_mapping:tutorials:camera_tilt_frame03.png?nolink|}} **Test Execution** - Set up the drone and mount a camera. - Put the micro SD-card into the Microdrone. - Open the mdCockpit Terminal Dialogue program. - Switch on the RC. - Switch on the drone - Connect the PC with the drone using the opload cable (FC-side). - Type in the ‘Terminal Dialogue’ the command ‘wptest’. - The servo goes to one of the extreme positions and then moves the mount to look downwards. (If the camera is not looking exactly downwards, you can fine-tune and adjust the CSS parameter in the Flightplan Wizard by performing the procedure again from 'Determination of the Tilt angle' on).
