====== Import Inventory Theme ======

The administration procedure "Import Theme" allows the Orbit administrator to import an existing vector resource to start a new Inventory Theme. \\
All [[111:technologies:resources:supported_formats|supported vector resources]] can be used for import and to start an new Theme.

===== Import Theme =====

  - **Open** the procedure "Import Theme" \\ Procedures > Administration > Asset Inventory > Import Theme
  - **Import** : Specify the resource and Theme properties.
    - Browse the [[111:technologies:resources:supported_formats|supported resource vector file]]
    * If an Orbit Vector file was selected that contains more than one data Model, a pop-up window will appear to select exact one of the models. \\ A Theme can have only one Model. Read more about multi Models and the Orbit dataset structure : [[111:technologies:basic_concepts:dataset_structure|]]
    * When using an Orbit Client-Server installation, the file to import must be on a location that is available from the server machine. (using UNC notation e.g. <nowiki>\\server\share\file_path</nowiki>)
    - Specify the coordinate system of the imported resource file. \\ If the resource CRS already has been set in Orbit, it will be automatically filled in. More information : [[111:technologies:crs:crs_orbit|]]
    - Enter a name for the inventory Theme.
    - Choose the desired coordinate system for the  new inventory Theme. \\ If necessary the imported objects will be transformed to the defined Coordinate System. New measurements will be saved in this CRS.
    - Click the button "Import Theme" to create the new asset inventory Theme and start the data import. 
    * When Exporting and Importing Orbit inventory Themes with the Orbit AIM Standalone, the inventory Object ID is preserved. This makes Theme and data exchange easy.
    * To exchange inventory themes between different Orbit AIM Client/Server setups contact the Orbit support (support at orbitgis dot com). \\ Data exchange will be done on database level.
  - **Finish** and confirm the procedure
    * by clicking the apply button (square) to confirm
    * by clicking the cancel button (cross) to undo the creation of the new Theme
