Relative orientation
Principle
This function is only available in the Softcopy Viewer and gives the opportunity to view a 3D-image of two photographs without having ground control points available.
It can be used on any photopair in a project.
The relative angular attitude and positional displacement between two images, that existed when the photos where taken, are calculated.
Omega, phi and kappa of the left camera are reset to zero.
Using the available tiepoint measurements the exterior orientation of the right camera is calculated.
Minimum 5 tiepoints must be available.
After selecting the 'Relative Orientation' function, the user can immediately view the model stereoscopically using the different Stereo Viewers.
Requirements for Relative Orientation
- Project containing minimum two photographs.
- Some approximate values for GPS/INS data for each photograph.
- Fiducial marks need to be measured.
- A minimum of five image points must to be measured in the overlapping part of the photographs.
