Interior Orientation (IO)
The Interior Orientation establishes transformation parameters between the camera coordinate system and the image pixel coordinate system.
This is done by:
- the measurement of the fiducial marks in the images expressed in the image pixel coordinate system.
- availability of the fiducial mark coordinates expressed in the camera coordinate system, entered in the Camera Editor.
Remark on tiepoints:
It is still possible to measure tiepoints without the Interior Orientation being defined.
It is however necessary to have the Interior Orientation defined, before you want to start a Bundle Adjustment procedure.
This is because the adjustment procedure uses the 'camera coordinates' of all the tiepoints, instead of it's image pixel coordinates.
See Interior Orientation on Strabo's 'Aerial Triangulation' Menu for editing the fiducial marks.
