Updates
The newest updates can be found at the bottom of this page.
July 2004 (version 3.0)
- Free orientation of flights. Strip with smallest angle in respect of West-East axis is main viewing orientation.
- Photo identifications may now contains characters in combination with numbers.
- Anaglyph Viewer now applies kappa-angle to improve stereoscopic view.
- Anaglyph Viewer now has improved automatic switching between models at small scale overview of photos.
- Support for StereoGraphics viewing on PC workstations
- Height settings for superimposed vectordata
- Full integration with Orbit GIS Interactive for integrated data creation
October 15, 2004
- Use of XYZ, XY and Z control points in BBA.
- internal adaptations regarding the interpretation of strip orientations, and selection of models effective during stereoscopic panning in the stereo viewer.
- Opening of a project while having another project open, will popup a dialog requesting attention to the previous project becoming closed.
- Improved calculation of fiducial mark positions (Internal orientation) in case of a digital camera in the camera editor. This re-calculaton always takes place when closing the first project wizard's step, “Edit Project Settings” (using the “ok” button), and when the camera is “digital”.
- Change in Camera Fiducial Marks dialog, it is now adapted to only enter 4 positions for a digital camera. (instead of 8 in classical cameras)
- The Second Project Wizard step “Exterior Orientation”: gives now the possibility to create a new file and enter some data containing EO info.
- The fourth Project Wizard Step “Photo Settings”, has now the possibility to check the scan orientation. By selection 2 or more photos, the “Analyze Orientation” button will show a dialog with two images that should have overlap. By using the setting at the left hand side of the dialog the user can change the scan-orientation of the image. The user should select in this way the proper orientation to get the overlap in the middle of the two images. If this parameter was also selected to make a change affective, closing this dialog shall change also the scan orientation for all the selected photos.
- In the View menu, there are two new menu functions concerning the stereo viewer:
- Standard Refresh
This is the standard way of refreshing the stereo image. The image is build up at once, reading a piece of the image file as big as the stereo viewer. - Tile buffered refresh
The image is build up using a buffer, giving also fast access to the image when the dialog is maximized. This is also needed in the softcopy tool, when creating new objects in a maximized stereo viewer window.
- The user can reposition the floating mark (or pan..) also during the image is build up. In this case the contrast enhancement will be switched off automatically, because the Image Enhacement has a different effect on the different tiles.
- The menu functions for calculation of approximations and for adjustment procedures now also popup a message dialog telling the user what has been done, what the result is, and if needed tell you what measurements are missing.
December 12, 2004
- Saving the Camera parameters did save always zeros for PP coordinates. This is now fixed.
- Amount of recent projects set to 10.
Jan-Feb 2005
- Fiducial marks localization is now optimized. It works with nicely drawn synthetic templates for the 8 different fiducial marks.
- First pixel accuracy localization (modified hough transform)
- Then subpixel accuracy is achieved finding the maximum of the correlation surface (polynomial 2e degree)
April 2005
- Support for Leica RC30, and Leica LC1030 camera's added.
- List Fiducial marks added in Strabo Menu.
May 2005
- Upgrades in speed concerning refresh of remote datasets on IOS server, in tiled buffered mode,
- Interfacing with Stealth U-mouse (also system mouse) for restitution purposes.
Juli 2005
- Changes concerning the link to ER-Mapper. The images to be rectified must have now the extention .ers (so first convert tif to ers)
Aug 2005
- Xhanges to the findModel() method, in case the project only has 2 images. e.g. for terrestrial photogrammetry.
- The TiePoint editor windows will now always start with the 2 images inside of them.
- Support for Strabox. (viewer with LCD screens and passive polarized glasses)
- 2 new floating marks added (small square, big square)
- Reorganized Menu layout and naming.
Sept-Oct 2005
- Strabox Stereo Viewer window: redesigned.
Smartzoom works now also in both images together - Full support of Immersion Softmouse for edit toolbox functions.
- Better functionalities concerning the closure of stereoviewer, switch from strabox to anaglyph e.g.
- Create new tiepoint from manual selection of images (not automatically using overview in OrbitGIS).
- Create & Delete model dialog, Select Model dialog: de stereoviewer remains in the selected model if the model is selected using the SelectModel Dialog. When selecting a model using the OrbitGIS overview, the stereoviewer will automatically (seamless) change to the next model.
- There is a new “Delete Tiepoint button” created in the edit tiepoint dialog. This deletes all measurements of the same tiepoint at once, in the different images. - Enhancement of the image refresh policy while panning. Happens now using a threshold and not periodically.
- In the Softcopy dialog, a “Sync Scale” toggle is created. When the stereo viewer zooms, the OrbitGIS viewer will get the same scale. This is necessary when editing new objects, to get an adequate snap aperture. - All strabo windows close, when closing the strabo main dialog.
- Smartzoom + ctrl = panning also in the Stereo viewers.
- Improved error calculation (stdv) in adjustment procedure
- Support of Terrestrial coverages (& oblique) in addition to the standards of Vertical photo coverage approach. Especially improvemenets in viewing capabilities, and model selection.
Dec 2005
- Help files translated to French
