Cyclomedia Extension
This extension to Orbit GIS allows you to view the spherical panoramic images, the so-called 'cycloramas'.
The images are presented by a layer with points as the type of object.
The extension 'Cyclomedia' opens in a new window. Open this window by selecting the menu Extension –> Open Cyclomedia Viewer
The Cyclomedia Window
There are several standard buttons in the Cyclomedia Window:
| select | to select the point objects that are linked with the images in the map view |
| focus | to focus the view of the selected images to the selected location |
| clear all | clears all the selected images in the Cyclomedia-window and clears the viewing angle in the map view |
| open project | to select the xml-file who contains the images |
| configuration | settings about legend of the viewing angle in the map view and the PhotoMarker Visibility |
| measure | to measure points and distances in the images |
| thumbnails | smaller versions of the cycloramas which will make a digital walk through te street faster |
Starting a project
To start a project select 'open project' in the Cyclomedia view. Choose the directory and select the xml-file. Automatically the corresponding dataset will open in the map view.
Consulting images
Presentation of the photo positions
Each 5 meters a 360 degrees panoramic picture was taken. The position of where this picture was taken is here presented as a blue circle. Viewing an image is reached by clicking on the button 'select' and then selecting the point in the photo layer. This image will be loaded in the Cyclomedia-view and the viewing angle will be visible in the map view.

- Selecting the next photo positions
- The arrows to go one position further or one position back
- The play and stop button
In the map view
The viewing angle of the image is also visible in the map view and is set on 90 degrees. Zooming in or out in the Cyclomedia-view will also change the viewing angle in the map view.
