Extensions to Orbit GIS

Orbit GIS and Orbit Explorer Plus can be extended with general or industry specific tools. When done so, access to the extensions will appear as new item in the Tools menu, for example :

In this example, 5 extensions are dynamically added to the menu. Choose the option to open and start the extension.

Extensions can be developed by any developer using the Orbit toolkit and complying to the Orbit GIS Extensions API. They should come with their own documentation, license and configuration specs, and a proper user interface. Eurotronics cannot be held responsible for the proper functioning of extensions.

Extensions and Workspaces

Extensions can add properties and preferences to a Workspace. When saving a Workspace, Orbit GIS will request such data from each extension. Upon opening Workspace, Orbit GIS will pass these settings to the extension. The extension developer must decide which settings belong in a workspace and how the extension behaves.

For example : the Strabo Photogrammetry extension requires a project file to operate. This project file is saved into the Orbit GIS workspace.
