Preferences Window

The Preferences Window lets you customize the application. The selected parameters are stored and automatically re-initiated when restarting the application.

Selection Preferences

Color Preferences

Highlight Color

This is the color used to highlight selected objects in the main map view. Click to select a color that best fits your choice. In general, choose a color that is in clear contrast with your map, so that selected objects are clearly visible.

Focus Object Highlight Color

This is the color used to highlight the selected object that is displayed in the Object Inspector. You may wish to define a different color here to uplift the one object from the list of selected objects that is currently in focus.

Highlight Width

Specify the line width for highlighting selected objects in pixels on screen. Set a value between 1 and 4 pixels wide.

Object Selection Mode

Selected Dataset

when selecting objects, only the objects of the selected Dataset are considered, if this Dataset is visible.

All Datasets

Selecting objects will query all visible datasets (or all datasets with the Selectability Option enabled) and list them in the Object Inspector.
Use this setting to easily select an object of which it is hard to visually determine in which dataset it is located.

Show Vertices

With this option enabled, the vertices of the selected objects are highlighted.

Show Directions

With this option enabled, an arrow between two following vertices on the selected objects shows the edit direction.

Object Inspector

Enable/disable the automatic popup of the Object Inspector Window upon selecting objects. When enabled, the Object Inspector window pops up when selecting objects. When disabled, you can access the object Inspector through the View Menu, or the Edit Menu; option “View Selected Objects properties”

Zoom Preferences

Smart Zoom Modifier

Customize the progress of the smart zoom, this is the speed of zooming in/out while dragging up and down (see Smart Zoom function).

Magnifier Window

Select the Zoom Factor for the [Magnifier|Magnifier Window]]. The new setting is applied when the Magnifier Window refreshes.

Workspace Preferences

Save Desktop Layout with Workspace

With this option enabled, the desktop layout (ODP-file) is saved with the same name and in the same directory of the workspace (OGW-file).

Show scalebar

With this option enabled, a scalebar is shown in the Map View.
