Desktop Layout

What is a Desktop Layout ?

A Desktop Layout is the way you organize your Orbit GIS windows on your screen: position, size, which windows are open or closed.

How to manage Desktop Layouts ?

Manually

You can manually load and save your favorite Desktop Layouts on disc using the Edit menu :

Save and Load your Desktop Layouts in a file. These files have an *.odp extension.

Per workspace

If a workspace has a sibling file with a .odp extension, the Desktop Layouts in the sibling file are automatically loaded and applied as part of the workspace.

You can have your Desktop Layout automatically saved when saving a workspace. To do so, enable the option in the Workspace tab of the Preferences window.

Auto Layout

Orbit GIS automatically saves your current Desktop Layout when closing. When restarting, your last layout is recovered.

Orbit GIS Extensions should communicate their layout properties with Orbit GIS in order to save and load them automatically.
