Toolbox : Merge Datasets
Introduction
Use this tool to combine datasets into one.
In Orbit, a dataset can consist out of several models. It can be useful to combine data into one dataset for easier access and manipulation. See also Understanding Orbit Datastructures.
Overview
Select your source files and merging method :
- Merge Models
These options will try to combine the source datasets as good as possible. The exact match of spatial datatypes is required for each model. - Merge Models with exact attribute match
This option will try to merge the datasets and add data of dataset 1 model 1 tot dataset 2 model 1, only when the definition and structure of the attribute component is equal. When the structure does not fit, the tool will cancel. - Merge Models with best fit
This option will try to merge the datasets and add data of dataset 1 model 1 tot dataset 2 model 1, and will try to convert the attributes as best as possible. This setting will merge the spatial data, but may loose attribute information. - Add models
This option always works as the data of datasets 1 and 2 will not be merged, but the models will just be added. This does require a storage format that can store multiple models (such as OVF).
Click Go to run the tool.
