Making Annotations
Type Selection
Create New Annotation
Select an annotation type from the list button. Pick one annotation type and click on the map to place your annotation. According to the type, you require to place one, two or more clicks on the map. Just try and see.
When entering text annotations, clck on a position, then typin the text on the map window. To enter a second line of text, use a soft-return (Shift-Enter). To finish, use Enter.
When entering line, arrow or dimension objects, use the right-click menu to pan, zoom and stop.
Selecting and Editing Annotations
Select, Move and Resize
Use the select button to select and edit annotations. You can only select one annotation at the time. When selected, edit handles and a circumscribing box appear to help you place your annotation exactly. Click and drag the handles to resize the annotation, or click and drag inside the box to change it's position.
Move Vertices
The various Line and Area annotation types allow vertex editing using the vertex edit button. Click and drag a single handle to change a point's position.
The Callout annotation
has different handles : click and drag anywhere to move the annotation, click and drag within the textbox to move only the text, click and drag the anchor-handle to move the anchor.
Rotate
Use the free rotate button to rotate the annotation you selected.
Use any of these rotate functions for a quick turn.
You can reset the rotation by pressing the clear rotate button .
Resize
Reset Size tool. This tool will reset the size of the selected annotation object to default on the current scale. Annotation objects are given a default size referring to the scale at time of creation: this size will now be re-applied, with reference to the current scale. Use this tool to align sizes after entry of object on different scales.
Nudge
Use one of the Nudge functions to move the annotation a single screen-pixel distance in either direction.
Copy Object
Copy the selected annotation object.
Paste Format
Use this function to copy graphic appearance from one object to another.
Select an annotation object from which you wish to copy the graphic appearance. Then select this function and point-click to the object you wish to copy to.
Edit Text
Use this buton to edit the text for the three types of text annotations. A text can be multi-line. Close the window to apply the changes.
Properties
Use this button to open the annotation properties function.
Delete
Finally, use the delete annotation button to permanently remove the annotation.
