Graphic Parameters

Orbit's graphic engine can be controlled by many graphic parameters. These parameters can be set by the legend definition.

Using a classification, you can specify which graphic parameters should be modified by the attribute classes you set.

Grouped Graphic Parameters

Group Allows to specify a value for each class in the classification for :
All Parameters all parameters according to the spatial type
Group : Line all Line-related parameters only
Group : Fill all Area-related parameters only, determining the fill for the area.
Group : Point all Point-related parameters only

To edit grouped parameters, a popup editor window appears presenting the according parameters in one window.

Basic Graphic Parameters

Overall Parameters

These parameters have general use, overruling other more detailed parameters

Parameter Comment Component
Parameter : Visibility Renders this model visible/invisible
Parameter : Color Sets overall color
Parameter : Transparency Sets overall transparency

Parameters for Points

These parameters are valid for all appearances of symbols, indicated by the prefix of the parameter name :

Parameter Pattern Comment
Parameter : Symbol.<name> the basic display of objects of spatial type Point
Parameter : Symbol.<name> the symbol placed on the lines of objects of spatial type Line
Parameter : Symbol.<name> the symbol placed on an outline of objects of spatial type Area

The parameters available in the classification list are equal to the parameters presented on the Symbol Parameters Editor window.

Note : The use of Units in graphic parameters is explained at the end of this page.

Parameters for Lines

These parameters are valid for all types of Lines, indicated by the prefix of the parameter name :

Parameter Pattern Comment
Parameter : Line.<name> the basic display of objects of spatial type Line
Parameter : Outline.<name> the outline of objects of spatial type Area
Parameter : Fill.Hatchline1.<name> the optional appearance of hatch-type fills for objects of spatial type Area
Parameter : SymbolRepetition.<name> the parameters for an optional symbol appearance on Line or Outline

Note : The use of Units in graphic parameters is explained at the end of this page.

Parameters for Areas

The parameters for Area consist out of Fillings (area-specific parameters) and an Outline. Outline parameters equal Line parameters as you can read above.

Parameter Pattern Comment
Parameter : Fill.<name> the fill display of objects of spatial type Area
Parameter : Fill.Hatchline1.<name> the optional appearance of hatch-type fills for objects of spatial type Area, which are defined as lines.

Note : The use of Units in graphic parameters is explained at the end of this page.
