3DM Manage and Extract

Annotate Images for AI Training

  • The Image Annotation Editor sidebar has been reworked to better suit Annotating 2D Objects.
  • Annotation Classes is now available through the Image Annotation Editor. Classes have a label, display name, id, and color.
  • Annotation Classes can be used for 2D Objects and 2D Segmentations.
  • A Compare Objects option is now added to the bottom of the Images Annotation to Objects sidebar.
  • The color picker in the Image Annotation Editor has been removed and now used inside the Annotation Classes section.
  • 2D Objects can be rendered by the correct color set inside the Annotation Class settings.
  • Annotation Class Groups can be uploaded to the Cloud
  • Image Annotations to ContextScene procedure now always creates a copy.
  • The Image Annotation Editor has a drop-down to choose between 2D Objects or 2D Segmentations.
  • Segmentation 2D will now upload into the Cloud, if present in Mapping Resources.
  • Optimizing Image annotations will now work with Coco files.
  • The AI Extensions are now available when using Map3D GL.

Annotate Images for Segmentation 2D

  • Segmentation 2D Images can now be shown in the Mapping Image view.
  • Annotations datasets of 2D Segmentations within Mapping Resources are now possible to be updated and edited from the Image Annotation Editor.
  • Results of Segmentation 2D are saved within the Mapping Resource as as Coco Files.
  • The results of 2D Segmentation are written within the Mapping Resource Metadata folder as “segmented_photos”.
  • Fixed a bug where the 3DLines from 2D Segmentation incorrectly reproject on Images

AI-Evaluation: Display AI Job Results

  • A new tool Compare Vector Datasets is available. This tools can be used to show the differences between AI Detector outcomes.

Enhance and Display Vector Data

  • The legend editor now has the possibility of using the space separator as an option to display multiple labels.

Implement a Report a Problem Workflow

  • Coco files can be imported into Mapping Resources via Manage Image Annotations. This allows the results from the Publisher Report a problem workflow to be used in Desktop.

Import & Improve Reality Data Interoperability

  • The 'Upload to Reality Management' option in the dataset list is now unavailable from the Dataset list options, if the Reality data isn't able to be uploaded.
  • The error warning status is changed with Mapping Resources if Photos have no photo positions.
  • There is now a progress bar after the Deletion of Images or photo positions, then checking Image Availability.
  • Many Mapping runs edit steps now automatically recalculate image availability at Import Photo Positions & Optimize Imagery.
  • Depth Images have been removed from Beta functionality.
  • Depth Images can now be seen in Mapping Image and Photo Views. The setting is enabled/disabled in the Mapping Runs preferences.
  • Depth Images use a new legend settings than can filter out transparency, value range, and pixels that have no information within the image.
  • Depth images are now saved next to image files, not in a dedicated folder.
  • The Reality Data Group ID (if available) is now listed in the iTwin Catalog Sidebar.
  • iTwin Catalog Reality Data are now prevented from being added into the Local Catalog.
  • It is now possible to delete Reality data from the iTwin Catalog, pending proper Bentley IMS login and Reality Data permissions.
  • Empty models are removed when converting GeoJson to other Vector formats.
  • Default Classes from converted LAS files now follow the Default LAS Class specifications.

Improve User Experience

  • The Georeference Procedure can now be used within Map3D GL.
  • The Range of Interest “Path” and “Area” are now usable within Map3D GL.
  • The Delivery Extension can now be used in Map 3D GL.
  • Multiple CSVs can be used to via a new option “Choose Directory” in the Mapping Run import procedure.
  • The Display CRS is now added to the Measure Sidebar with point measurements.
  • The Post Collection Calibration checks are now doing quicker from Mapping resources.
  • The Naming sub tab in the Dataset List properties has had an UI adjustment.
  • The Delivery Sidebar buttons have minor renames to stay up-to-date with Local Catalog and Mapping Resources.
  • The ORD of resource data now has a License Type, which can help indicate if a user has used a Trial License.
  • The owner is not displayed in the iTwin Catalog if no Bentley IMS login is used.
  • The 3DM measure preference “Limit to Point Cloud Selection” has an info “i” icon to show the applicable context where this setting applies.

iTwin Feature Service as Asset Resource

  • If applicable, OWFS that are drag-and-dropped opened from Feature Class will now check Bentley Login IMS, check environment, iTwin and feature class configuration.
  • The Feature Service API has been updated to V2.

Manage iTwin Feature Class

  • When Creating a Feature Class, the “Not Null?” option now defaults to unselected.
  • The pop up window is now removed and replace with a label when updating a Feature Class Description or Copying to a new iTwin.
  • Feature Class with multi-part objects will now not be rejected.
  • The Feature Class import error message for compound CRS is now improved.
  • The 'Import as Feature Class' and 'Insert to Feature Class' options are now available in the Import and Upload Tool.

Manage iTwin Repositories

  • The favorites button can now be selected and unselected in the iTwin Catalog.
  • From the iTwin Catalog, it is now possible to get, display and search tags from Reality Data.
  • The storage unit of Reality Data in the iTwin Catalog is now always Metric.
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes the iTwin Menu would not be present in the main toolbar.
  • Fixed a bug where it was not possible to search for all iTwins if more than 1000 were connected to a user.
  • The iTwin catalog> AI Library curated content no longer has a colon next to the property title.

Upload and Manage AI Detector Library

  • The AI Detector Library now has a “Search Match Found” label that appears after selecting a searched AI Detector.
  • Local Detectors can have fields now edited from the AI Library Table.
  • Local and Organization AI Detectors can be deleted from the AI Library Table.

Usabilities with Linear Reference Systems

  • Linear Reference Systems within Desktop have been updated:
    • Negative Values to the left of the reference path
    • Positive Values to the right of the reference path
    • New measurement result: LRef Length Km/LRef Length Mi
    • New Autocomplete field within the Geocode Search option

Maintenance

  • SHP files can be used as a source format to import photo positions.
  • JSON files can be used now as a source photo position import files.
  • A copy to clipboard option is now added within the Post Collection Calibration sidebar.
  • Asset Resources will now have snapshots saved with measurements, if they are measured within 3D or Map 3D GL reference view(s).
  • The Create TIN tools has a new status tooltip if area vector objects are not available.

The 3DM Cloud includes the 3DM core and 3DM Viewer improvements.

  • Within the console, Reality Management has been renamed to iTwin Reality Management.
  • Authentication is now added to the 3DM Cloud API to check organizations and resources information.
  • More errors or warnings banners are now shown during a 3DM Cloud creation .

  • Fixed a bug where the cloud login from the legacy “Orbit Log In” was not working.

  • Rendering of Annotations after window resizing is fixed.

Improve Orbit Publisher Feature and Map Service

  • The GetFeatureInfo Operation has been added to WMS.
    • GML and HTML are now also supported formats.

Improve User Experience

  • Fixed an issue where the Child Resource would disappear quickly or not appear.
  • Searching for Photos within Dynamic Resource Children will open in parallel, resulting in faster opening times.
  • A named user login using a Publication URL token is now available.

Manage and Display Extended Metadata

  • Added copy to clipboard fields next to metadata values.

Support for External Access Providers (Open ID Connect)

  • An extra setting called “Allow Preferred Username” flag for Access Provider configurations. This option, if enabled, will try to find a user using preferred_username, if it exists within the user defined Open ID configuration.

3DM Viewer

Display, Inspect, and Extract Features

  • Fixed an issue where the Group color was still used for Child Resources.

Enhance Photo Metadata

  • Fully defined Photo Metadata ID is now viewable from the Viewer metadata popup window.
  • All attributes of Photos can now be seen in the viewer metadata popup window.
  • The copy to clipboard state works for all metadata fields.

Improve Line Rendering

  • A new Web GL Rendering mode is now used, allowing for visualization of complex Vector data and allows for visualization of vertical lines.

Improve Photo Interactions

  • During render mode switches, the middle photo of a resource will open instead of the first photo.

Improve User Experience

  • The legend is now always visible in the Resource Sidebar, even if the resource details are collapsed.
  • The Move-to function when used on the reference view will now always move to instead of focus on the location.
  • The 3D Focus is now more predicable. It will always focus to 20m at default. Additionally, there is a Focus 3D Setting that can change the default distance.
  • The Geocoding Search now is able to search Resources by Descriptions and Tags.
  • The Viewer Geocoding search is now split to search via Photo ID or Resource.
  • Resource metadata details can now be viewed from the View Metadata Popup.
  • The Most Recent setting in timelines is disabled if no Resource has this option selected.

Refine Discrete Photo Capabilities

  • Discrete photo footprints are now rendered as diamonds.
  • Discrete photo footprints can now be seen when zoomed in large scale.
  • Discrete Mapping Run Imagery can now have the Brightness adjusted from the Viewer sidebar.
  • Photo Metadata is now available in the Viewer Metadata.
  • The Viewer Ground Height is only updated when using 3D Data and switching to and from photo views.
  • The Quick Action Photo Navigation by sequence is now available with discrete images.
  • The Play-through function is now available with discrete images.
  • Different Render modes when switched now take into account the Viewer position of discrete imagery.
  • View Synchronization now works with Discrete Photos Image Views.

Improve User Experience

  • The symbology of discrete imagery footprints is now the same as in Publisher and Cloud.
  • Resource Children symbology will now follow the same color setting as configured in Publisher and Cloud.

Refine Discrete Photo Capabilities

  • The setPickPosition can now be used to open Discrete Photos.

Maintenance

  • There is no longer an animation when using add View.

  • A new QGIS Plugin has been made to resolve an issue with Python WebSocket compatibility.
