Compare Vector Datasets

This page describes how to use the vector comparison toolset.

Main Toolbar > Tools > Compare Vector Dataset

This tool allows the spatial comparison of two vector dataset.

Concepts

Vector dataset comparison tool ingests two vector files and output one vector files containing spatial comparison insights. It scans Source datasets and scans each entry's location to find a correspondence in Compare dataset

Source

Reference or Ground Truth vector dataset. The dataset against which comparison will be executed

Compare

Comparison candidate. The dataset that will be compared against Source.

Target

Name, location and CRS of the vector file resulting from the comparison

Options

Comparison will be driven following few options:

  • Spatial match: Either compare two datasets in 2D or 3D space. Comparing in 2D can be relevant when Z-value is not important or missing from one dataset.
  • Distance: Tolerance value within which two entries from Source and Compare will be considered as a match. Beyond this distance and in absence of any correspondence, comparison will mark it as not-a-match.
  • Choose source or compare attribute: Constraint the spatial comparison to entries wearing the same class attribute in both Source and Compare datasets.

Output

Output will be a vector file on-boarding attribute that will allow visual comparison by adjusting legend display.
