Export
Orbit supports the export of various datatypes . A listed of export options can be found at Supported Resources. However, a successful export may require extra attention, depending on the export type and necessary uses with 3rd party softwares. E.G. SHP - Data must be exported to a non compound CRS.
DGNs
Based on the source CRS used to create the DGN, Manage and Extract will export DGNs into a container Seedfile with Linear Units in Metric, Imperial ft, or International ft. However, all Microstation Seedfiles come with an Advanced Setting Resolution in Meters. These Seedfiles are built from the default Seedfiles within Microstation, when creating a drawing.
The DGN files must have a properly defined CRS in Microstation for data alignment. After applying CRS, the Imperial and International ft Seedfiles have may need additional conversion when being used in Microstation. Depending on your DGN and CRS definition, this setting may be changed.
Example Imperial DGNs
1. Create a DGN in Manage and Extract with Imperial units.
2. Open with Microstation.
3. Define the CRS.
4. A window will pop up, prompting a selection
- Choose “Change the storage units in the model from Meters to US Survey Feet…”
5.The Advanced Working Units will move from the default Metric to Unit CRS.
Default Advanced Units:
Modified Advanced Units:
6. The DGN will properly align with the defined CRS.
