Images with EXIF Headers

This page describes original Planar or Panorama images with EXIF header for Orbit import genric import.

Use the corresponding Orbit Import Template to import the described original data.
It is recommend to read first Orbit Mapping Resource.

Panoramas or Planars

Image files

  • Image type:
    • Panoramas: Equirectangular images 2×1.
    • Planars: Rectified images
  • Image orientation: Center pixel is orientation reference.
  • File format: One *.jpg file for each image containing EXIF headers.
  • Folder structure: All image files in a single folder.

Image positions

Position and orientation, if available, from EXIF tags:

  • X : TAG_LONGITUDE or TAG_LONGITUDE_REF
  • Y : TAG_LATITUDE or TAG_LATITUDE_REF
  • Z : TAG_ALTITUDE or TAG_ALTITUDE_REF
  • Orientation : TAG_IMG_DIRECTION or TAG_TRACK.
