Install Orbit 3DM Publisher - Orbit Legacy Activation

This page describes the clean installation of “Orbit 3DM Publisher”.

Preparations

A well-prepared installation will take no longer than 15 minutes.

Server Requirements

Review the hardware and operating system requirements :

Register

A registered Orbit account will be required to manage your licenses.
If you do not have your own account, complete and confirm your registration. Check your junk mail, the confirmation email might be blocked by your spam filter.

Request Orbit Activation Key

Request your Orbit Activation Key for product activation, contact Sales at Orbit GT.
Review the online license requirements: Orbit Online License Activation.

Download Installation Package

Download the installation package according the purchased product.
Make sure your IT security settings and firewall do allow to connect and login to the Orbit GT FTP.

  • Ftp : ftp://ftp.orbitgt.com
  • Login: OrbitSetups
  • Password : OrbitGT!
  • Installation package :
    • orbit_3dm_feature_extraction_[version]_[operating system]_[date].zip
    • orbit_3dm_publisher_[version]_[operating system]_[date].zip

Unzip

Unzip into the preferred installation directory.

Steps to Install on Windows

Server Configurations

Customize memory available for Publisher

  • JAVA_MAX_MEMORY_MB
    ..\server\program\bin64\ServiceInstall.bat (Edit e.g. with Notepad)

Install and Start Orbit Service

  1. Install the Orbit Service
    ../server/program/bin64 > ServiceInstall.bat (Run as administrator)
  2. Set User Account “Orbit Enterprise Service” to Local System Account or a designated user.
  3. Start the Orbit Service
    ../server/program/bin64 > ServiceStart.bat (Run as administrator)
  4. Verify started “Orbit Enterprise Service”
    Operating System Services > Status of “Orbit Enterprise Service” should be “Started”

Activate Product

  1. Activate your product using your Product Activation Key: Orbit 3DM Publisher Console > System
