Starting with Orbit 3DM Publisher
Mission
Improve productivity and collaboration by making your managed and extracted data available to the team from your local server. Publish (online) and define a single view of truth of the unlimited volumes of processed images, meshes, point clouds and extracted assets right away in your team's workflows.
- Manage online sharing: aggregate different reality data resources, base maps, and other reference resources into ready‐to‐use publications using a user-friendly console.
- Set publication properties: manage user credentials and publish content in your software environment. Easily view login data, configure web pages, and generate direct web links.
- Customize publication: address the exact needs of your users by adding metadata, configuring the view compositions and resources presentation, and specifying available features.
- View, measure and extract: view shared data in a web browser to quickly measure, attribute, and extract points, lines, areas, and download the results for export.
- Analyze over time: combine and compare mapping data over time, display time lapses, slice through data and annotate the differences to collaborate.
- Share views among users: save personal views and results and share them with stakeholders to collaborate based on online shared reality data.
- Share data or embed in a 3rd party software: leverage a standard web viewer, or easily integrate plug‐ins for your workflows via the API/SDK, or work via one of the available 3rd party software plug‐ins (ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, ArcPro, MicroStation, QGIS, etc.).
- Overlay vector data and save measurements in 3rd party: overlay local stored files in the Orbit plugin. Once measurement is done, copy and save the result in your 3rd party software environment.
What's in
The Orbit 3DM Publisher hosts and shares any type, any size of Reality Data, Mapping Resources, and GIS Resources from an on-premises server via HTTP/WS into the Orbit 3DM Viewer WebClients.
The Orbit 3DM Publisher includes 3 product components:
- Publisher Server: Service hosting Publications and managing Resources, Users, and Permissions.
- Import and Upload Tool: Desktop application used to import, prepare and optimize all resources.

The Orbit 3DM Cloud Upload Tool is a free-of-charge desktop product and provides tools to import, catalog, optimize, and upload resources.

Manage, Organize & Share
Share
One of 3D Mapping Publisher’s paramount features is the ease to share data. Easy sharing with co-workers, either within your team or in another department, even on the other side of the globe. But also sharing with third-party users such as customers, contractors, consultants, and others. Define access to data by setting the right permissions.
Every Publication can be shared with users created in the console or it can be made publicly available.
