NavVis Web Post Processing

This page describes the original NavVis mapping resources processed by NavVis IVION core & desktop post-processing software.

Use the corresponding Orbit Import Template to import the described original data.
It is recommend to read first Orbit Mapping Resource.

E57 container

Images, photo positions, and point cloud are packaged in one or more .E57 resource files.
At import, Orbit generates individual resource entities from this E57 container file.

The below documentation describes the extracted individual resources entities.

Panoramas

Image files

Exported by Orbit at import E57.

  • Image type: Equirectangular panoramas.
  • Image resolution : 8192×4096 pixels.
  • Cube Face resolution: mage resolution : 8192×4096 pixels.
  • File format: Each image is one *.jpg file.
  • Filename: <9-digit-id>_<image-hash>_<5-digits-id>-pano.jpg.jpg (with double file extension)

Image positions file

Exported and generated by Orbit at import E57.

  • File format : One ASCII *.csv file, “positions.csv”.
  • File structure Rows: Each image is one record.
  • File structure Columns: Tab-separated (char9), headers, with exact order as the example below.
  • Value “filename”: Filename as on disk, with single file extension.
  • Coordinates: Projected coordinates, local height, decimal notation, no thousands separator.
  • Orientations: Variation of Euler definition
