Views Settings

This page documents the different 3DM Viewer Views Settings. Depending the available resources in the workspace, the different setting options may vary.

All Views

Display viewing direction label Display the wind direction to which the views are aimed. The label is displayed under the view action menu.

3D View

Display Base Map in 3D: Display the base map in the 3D view(s). The base map appears on the Reference Ground Height.
Drape Base Map on selected Terrain: Add 3D rendering to the base map. The z-values used for this are based on the chosen terrain model. Stereo View Type: Choose from different stereo techniques to display the 3D View.

  • Stereo Anaglyph
  • Stereo Side-By-Side
  • Stereo Side-By-Side (RHF)
  • Stereo Side-By-Side (RVF)
  • Stereo Top-Bottom
  • Stereo Side-By-Side (RHVF)

Image Views

Overlay Point Cloud on Image: Enable the display of the Point Cloud on the Image view(s).
Overlay Mesh on Image: Enable the display of Mesh resources on the Image View(s).
Display timestamp: Display the timestamp linked to the opened image in the Image View(s).
Display photo-id: Display the photo id linked to the opened image in the Image View(s).
Display resource name: Display the source resource name of the opened image in the Image View(s).
Get alternative images: Retrieve the list of optional alternative images when moving or adding a new Image View.
Display photo positions at all times: Permanently display the photo positions in the Image view(s). Not only when hovering over the position.
Play-through speed: Set the speed for the Image Play-through option.
Play-through quality: Set the quality for the Image Play-through option.
Overlay Image Annotations: Enable the display of the Image Annotation .xml files in the mapping resources on the Image view(s).
Overlay Image Annotation Tags: Enable the display of the Image Annotation Tags .xml files in the mapping resources on the Image view(s).
Open Image from 3D View: Choose the selection behavior that is taken into account when opening an Image from 3D View.

  • Use Focus Coordinate only
  • Use Focus Coordinate and Direction
  • Use View Position & Focus Coordinate

MM Planar and Spherical Image View

Maximum View Depth Annotations and Resources: Option to adjust the view depth visibility of the 3D annotations, point cloud, and vector resources on the spherical and MM Planar image view (distance from the photo position).
Maximum Photo Search Distance: Set the maximum distance around the view coordinate to open a new image.
Maximum Time Offset Point Cloud: Set the maximum time difference (1-10-infinite seconds) between the photo position timestamp and the on-image overlayed point cloud points.
Open best planar photo by: Choose if the best planar image is to open taken by Spatial Distance or Pixel Distance.
Open Image From Spherical View: Choose if the Relative or Absolute Direction should be kept when opening an Image.

Aerial Planar Image View

Maximum View Depth Annotations and Resources: Options to adjust the view depth visibility of the 3D annotations, point cloud and vector resources on the Aerial planar image view (distance from the photo position).
Maximum Photo Search Distance: Set the maximum distance around the view coordinate to open a new image.
Open best planar photo by: Choose if the best planar image is taken by Spatial Distance or Pixel Distance.
Rotate Image to force North up: Choose if all, none, or only Nadir, Aerial planar images should be rotated north up.
Open Automatically new best Image Near Edge of current Image: When enabled, a new planar image will be opened in the Planar View Mode if the current image is dragged to the side. Drag to the left and a new planar image that is located on the right of the current image will be opened.

Oblique Planar Image View

Maximum View Depth Annotations and Resources: Options to adjust the view depth visibility of the 3D annotations, point cloud and vector resources on the Oblique planar image view (distance from the photo position).
Maximum Photo Search Distance: Set the maximum distance around the view coordinate to open a new image.
