Generic Mobile Mapping with Exif Headers
This page describes the original generic mobile mapping resources for Orbit import.
Use the corresponding Orbit Import Template to import the described original data.
It is recommend to read first Concepts of Mobile Mapping and UAS data in Orbit.
Panoramas
Image files
- Image type : Equirectangular panoramas.
- Image resolution : Ratio 2×1.
- Image orientation : Center pixel is orientation reference.
- File format : One *.jpg file for each image containing exif headers.
- Folder structure : All files in one folder.
Photo positions
The original folder is scanned for .jpg files and reads the position and orientation of each photo. The used EXIF information tags are:
- X : TAG_LONGITUDE, TAG_LONGITUDE_REF
- Y : TAG_LATITUDE, TAG_LATITUDE_REF
- Z : TAG_ALTITUDE, TAG_ALTITUDE_REF
- Orientation : TAG_IMG_DIRECTION or TAG_TRACK.
The results are saved in the positions.ovf and positions.csv files in the original folder. The csv file is used to automatically imported a photo positions file during the import procedure.
