How-To Import, Optimize and Upload 3D Mapping Data to 3DM Cloud
The below-listed videos guide you through the steps from preparing your 3D Mapping data to uploading to the 3DM Cloud.
It is advised to first go through How-To Get Started with Orbit 3DM Desktop Software.
Return to the How-To Overview.
- Import and optimize Mapping Resources
- Import Mapping Resources using Import Template - [3:56 min]
- Optmize Images using the Administration Procedures - [1:51 min]
- Import and optimize single GIS Resources
- Optmize Vector Data using the Optmize Tool - [ min]
Optimize (and set basic legend for) Vector Data > ovf & ovt - Optmize Images using the Optmize Tool - [ min]
(multiple tiles into one omi, and this solves only local file based resources. check the notes for online base maps like wms and tiled map resources) - Optmize Point Clouds using the Optmize Tool - [ min]
not required for point clouds part of a mapping run, higher density requires smaller block size, advise to filter at all time to guarantee performant streaming.
- Upload optimized resources to 3D Mapping Cloud > workspace datasets (ready to upload) vs catalog. show in Cloud Console (not yet ready if uploading, only resource manager)
