New Features & Enhancements

• User Interface Facelift
  Cleanup and simplification by consistency resulted in a nice and user friendly facelift of the user interface and main toolbar. Access to all Main Menus has been standardized, obsolete Preferences (Constructions, Licenses and Workspace) are removed, Tools and Extensions Menus list only items relevant to the active Map View (2D, 2D Layout, 3D, GL) and, the old-fashioned buffer wizard got updated into a sidebar.
  The main framework dividers are colored in orange, blue or green corresponding the product line capture, model, share.
• Preset templates for new vector datasets
  Beside a standard vector dataset, various preset dataset configurations are available via the Create New Vector dataset Window. These configurations pre-define the spatial type and relevant attribute structure. Presets are available for Dynamic Symbols Dataset, GPX Dataset, semi/full automated measurements and detectors.
• EPSG Reference Database update to latest version
  The embedded EPSG reference database is updated to the latest version (9.8.6). Among various CRS definition updates, also the recently defined CRS “S-JTSK / Krovak East North” (EPSG 5514) is now supported.
• JDBC database drivers update
  The embedded JDBC drivers for MsSQL, MySQL and PostgreSQL are updated to the latest version.
• WMS resource configuration to ignore DCP
  Configuration update to ignore DCPType. IgnoreDCP (true,false) has been added as setting for .owms dataset configuration file. This setting makes it possible to ignore incorrect DCPType capabilities of web-based resources. E.g. incorrect specification of http / https.
• 3D Tiles resource driver update to support URI
  3D Tiles specifications allow use of URL and URI image tags. Support for URI tags has been added as an alternative for commonly used URL tags.
• Auto save 3D measurements
  Via the 3D Hover, Measure Options preferences it is possible to activate “Auto save measurement to recorded dataset”. There is no need to copy to feature. The measurement is added automatically to the recorded dataset if the dataset spatial type corresponds to the measurement. Newly created features replace any current object selection and thus can be attributed or deleted directly.
• Copy spatial component of 3D Measurement to clipboard
  

Usabilities

• Georeference Point Cloud, Edit Point Cloud Legend
  Point Cloud legend editing is added for the new resource that needs to be georeferenced.
• Esc Button to reset active function to pan function
• Web-based resources are set italic and grayed out in the dataset list on Map 3D to indicate the resource cannot be rendered on this Map View. The bounding box of web-based resources is excluded to determine the extent of all visible datasets. This workspace extent is used at initial view of Map 3D or when triggering the zoom to top map function.
• Selecting 2D Measurements triggers Map 2D, opening Map 3D will trigger 3D Measurements
• Default point cloud legend is created to Convert and Optimize source resource to target Orbit Point Cloud.
• Add the Spatial Object ID as attribute “ID” if the exported dataset has no Attributes.
• Open and remove run or project has been made a little easier as the search entry field is directly active to filter the list.
• Keystrokes for mobile and uas mapping are applied on all opened views, and no longer on the first view only.

Bug fixes

• Import point cloud having Z value greater than 30,000.
• Export orbit composite resource to orbit vector file.
• Conservation of manually added dependent attribute values when updating the resource description via user interface.
• Display of Map 2D scale bar units when map units are set to Foot or Yard.

The 3D Mapping Content Manager includes all 3D Mapping Core improvements.

New Features & Enhancements

• Delivery, Clip and Export by Fence or Vector Dataset
  Use a 2D Fence to clip and export a single delivery, or use a vector dataset to generate multiple deliveries at once.
• Delivery, Merge Runs without unique image file names
  Merge runs that do not have unique file names or photo id's into a single delivery. Unique id's are generated on the fly during the delivery process by re-organizing the image directories.
• Post collection calibration for boresight or leverarm only
  New options are added to the tool for post collection calibration and alignment of a camera using reference measurements. Correction values can be computed for boresight Pan-Tilt-Roll only, keeping leveram XYZ fix and visa versa.
• Script to Convert Vector Data
  A new batch script has been added to convert the vector resource storage format for all vector files in a specified directory. Read from and write to any supported storage format.
• Script to Optimize Imagery
  A new batch script has been added to optimize the original images from one or more mapping runs.

Bug fixes

• Ghost cleaning process using default DEM parameters.
• Presentation of trajectory error value on the trajectory graph if the first trajectory timestamp has no error value.

The 3D Mapping Feature Extraction includes all 3D Mapping Core improvements.

New Features & Enhancements

• Pole attachment and tree object formulas
  All metadata results for pole attachment and tree measurements are available via object formulas. Tree height, crown and trunk diameter. Number, height and type of attachments.
• Pole attachment and tree measurements for Asset Inventory
  The powerful pole attachment and tree measurement functions are added to point inventory object measurements. Both measure functions can be used directly as spatial object measurement or to measure object attributes.
• Attribute dependent value lists for Asset Inventory
  An attribute value list for which the available values depend on the value of another attribute can be used for asset inventory. Previously only the object inspector could handle uses of attribute dependent value lists.
• Import and Add local vector dataset to Inventory Theme
  Via the dataset context menu, any local vector dataset can be imported as new inventory theme or added to an existing theme. This is also useful to import or add the candidates of automated feature extraction into an asset inventory theme for verification.

Usabilities

• Associated detector preferences are visually grouped.
• Labels and Buttons in the Verify section of Automated Feature Extraction Extension have been updated to be consistent to the linked Asset Inventory Procedure.
• Cancel button is added to Shape Editor of the Shape Creator Extension.
• Extend line measurement function is deprecated. The Map 2D Edit tools must be used to merge individually saved measurements into a single object.

October 2019

Our October release is a full-scope update for 3DM Publisher and 3D Mapping Cloud.
Publisher, Cloud, Viewer, Viewer SDK and Plugins are all updated to version 19.10. This makes all improvements of previous releases of the 3D Mapping Viewer available for Publisher and Plugins!
Have a look at the Synchronize Views and the Play-though functions or set the color of the resource footprints to your preference for example by year, project or type.

New Features and Enhancements

• Play Function, faster and better
  Performance update of the play function, using low resolution images and auto-stop at pan to load the high resolution image. Next to spherical images, the play functions can now be used on UAS and Street-level planar images as well.
• Synchronize View, includes follow zoom
  Synchronize view combines follow focus for all view modes and follow zoom for corresponding view modes.
• Guest Users, save login for quick access
  Guest user login to publication can be saved by the browser's login and password management functionality.
• Guest Users and Named User, auto close open sessions
  Open guest user session are ended automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity. The guest user can continue and restart an auto-closed session at anytime as long if there are concurrent use slots available.
• Open Image, best and next best image
  One and the same image can no longer be openend twice via the Add or Synchronize View functions. If the best image is already opened, then the next best image will be loaded.
• Geocoding, display and improvement
  The result coordinate of a Google geocoding search request is displayed on the reference view. Also a small bug fix, the openend spherical image was exceptionally not the closest image.
• Resource Footprints, set color
  The footprint color of mapping resources can be set to any color. The default remains blue, but the user can change via resource coverage legend panel.
• Textured Mesh, enhanced support for Cesium format
  Interesting enhancements in the support of the varying structure of cesium's storage format for textured mesh.
• Annotations, use custom symbol url
  Next to a preset symbol library, a custom url pointing a jpg or png image can be used to add a symbol.

Bug fixes

• Resource footprint photo positions could be covered by the base map on reference View.

The 3D Mapping Viewer SDK and Plugins uses the 3D Mapping Viewer.
All improvements of the 3D Mapping Viewer version 19.9 and 19.10 are applicable for Viewer SDK and Plugins.

New Features and Enhancements

• Login as Guest User to 3DMC Publication
  Guest User can sign-in to a publication opened via a Token.
• Login by Token to Publisher Publication
  Login by Token has been extended to use a full Url to a Publisher Publication.

Bug-fixes

• Auto-login to a Publication created via the new Console was not working.
• Saving entire measurement object of measurements created by construction point, and not only the measured construction points.

New Features and Enhancements

• Display coordinate reference system
  One or more coordinate reference systems can be added via Guest User and Named User preferences to display the coordinate measurement results.
• Publication Logo, Specific for each publication
  A specific logo can be set for each Publication. Options for each publications are a) no logo, b) re-use the organisation logo or c) specific logo.

Bug-fixes

• Sharing of Resource Groups with external Named User was not possible.
• Sharing of Project with the entire Organisation was not possible.

A new Console has been released with the previous update, version 19.7. We asked some of our key customers to test and evaluate first hand the Console. All reported issues have been resolved and a nice wish list of enhancements will be implemented by next versions.

Solved Issue

• All Views of the 3D Mapping Viewer remained black.
  This issue is caused by Google Chrome's latest update 75.0.X (2019.06.04) and is solved by Patch 19.6 (2019.06.12).

June 2019

Our 2019 June release leverages configuration, customization, and integration of the 3D Mapping Viewer to the next level. Valued feedback from users and integrators resulted in various improvements e.g. to prepare a simplified 3D Mapping Viewer for specific needs on various platforms.
Next, we reviewed the workflows for data processing and optimization and implemented various and nice enhancements for feature extraction.
As usual, newly reported bugs got solved.
We are now working towards version 19.7, expected release date Monday, July 15th.

• Task Manager: For some activation keys, newly added tasks could not be started in Feature Extraction Pro.
• Task Manager: Incorrect task status “failed” after successful optimization of original images of mapping run.
• Task Manager: Resize image resolution was not applied when optimizing original images of mapping run via task manager
• License Manager Window: Since version 19.5, the license manager window was no longer opened if the license activation failed.
• 3D Mapping Cloud Upload: Some special characters could not be used in a password. If used, the login failed.

• Take Resource Ownership
  Resource Manager and Account owners can take over ownership of any resource, including resources that were owned by colleagues that left the organization. The previous owner gets a notification email to inform change of ownership.
• Current amount of active Guest Users
  The current amount of active guest users of a Publication is displayed in to monitor the real-time use of a Publication.

• Ability to change the company's primary data store for Account Administrator and Account Owner roles.
• Access to Invoices page for Subscription Manager and Billing Agent roles.

  It's now possible to render a point cloud using Eyedome or Shaded Lighting.

  The option to open a publication in a specific location using startup coordinates in the URL has been improved for usage within integrations (SDK API).
• Spherical View Play Function
  The play function in an image view was improved and can now be used when several image views are opened.
• Oblique Usabilities
  Various improvements for handling Oblique resources have been implemented, e.g zoom to the cursor position, display of the field of view and resource footprints, restoring oblique workspace, and more, adding to the overall user experience.

QGIS Plugin

• A user can now overlay a QGIS-layer to the 3D Mapping Viewer regardless of the type of symbology (simple, categorized, graduated or rule-based) used in QGIS. Fixed a small bug here.

• Launch of an updated ArcGIS Pro plugin.

New Features and Enhancements

• Introduction of Hybrid resources
  Declare 3DM Publisher resources in 3D Mapping Cloud console to jointly consult private and cloud-based resources.
• Categories for 3D Models
  Categories are introduced to assort 3D models. This eases the search for specific 3D models and helps to keep an overview of the 3D model library. From the Annotations Sidebar in the Viewer, one can select a 3D Model starting from searching its category.
• Prefered Coordinate System
  It’s possible to set the initial display CRS of the Viewer and Publication for Named and Guest Users.
• Guest User Uses for Publications
  An extra column in the list of your publications indicates how many guest users are assigned to each publication. On the top right of that page, the total amount of guest users can also be consulted.
• Duplicate Publication
  A user with the role of resource manager will have the possibility to duplicate an existing publication. This will copy the setup of the publication, not the sharing settings.
• Area restricted Tiled Mapping Service
  3D Mapping Cloud now supports auxiliary files which makes it possible to add and view Tiled Map Service that covers a limited area only.

3D Mapping Viewer and Plugins for Cloud and Publisher.

New Features and Enhancements

• 3D Mapping Viewer Plugin for QGIS
  The 3D Mapping Viewer plugin for QIS enables connection and interaction with the 3D Mapping Viewer for Cloud and Publisher. Measurements made in the 3D Mapping Viewer are visualized in QGIS and can be saved to a QGIS layer. QGIS layers can be overlaid to 3D Mapping Viewer, using the formatting of the layer in QGIS.
• Reworked Top-right Viewer Menu
  There is now one menu in the top right of the Viewer which includes the following submenus: More Menu, Help Menu, Geocoding Search and Basemap selection.
• Resize Reference View
  The size of the Reference View can be adjusted to the user’s preferences. When moving the Reference View, the relative size will be saved and reprojected in the new layout.
• System 3D Model Library
  There is a list of system 3D models available to every User next to the companies 3D Model Library.
• Open Image by Recording Position
  Change the 3D View to a specific Spherical or Planar Image View by moving to the photo recording position.
• Move All Views
  To move all views of your Viewer at once, hold Shift while in move mode and choose a new location. While holding Shift, ‘move’ in the View action Fly-out will change to ‘move all’ to indicate this.
• “3D Measurement” measure technique
  The new “3D Measurement” measure technique combines the Point Cloud, DEM, Reference Planes and Ground Height measure technique.

• Added functionality to manage Asset Inventory Themes: search, export and delete Themes via Context Menu.

• More than 9 planar cameras are allowed now in Mobile Mapping Run.
