Movie Maker

This page describes how to use the extension Movie Maker to create 3D point cloud fly through movies from the mobile mapping 3D view.

The Movie Maker is a simple tool to create a quick point cloud fly through movie. No special effects, what you see is what you get.
The Movie Maker can be used only on one mobile mapping 3D view. Create a flight plan by adding the current 3D viewpoint as way point. Add more way points and export the fly-through as .avi file. That's it.

File
Enter a name for the movie project or open, save and close a movie project from the drop-down menu.
A movie project and its waypoints will be saved as .moviemaker.xml

Waypoints
Add the current mobile mapping 3D point cloud view as movie waypoint ussing the according “Add” button.
Use the “Previous” and “Next” arrows to walk-though the added waypoints. Using the “Update” button the indicated waypoint will be replaced by the current 3d view. “Remove” will delete the waypoint.

Export
Set Frame size (resolution) and Frame rate, define the fly-through speed and Export. Once the movie creation is finished the view movie button will be enabled.
Today only the AVI movie file is supported as export format. Note that this file format is limited to 4GB.
