Export Dataset To
Export the selected Dataset (vector resources only) and specify file name and storage format.
Image resources cannot be exported using this Export Dataset To function from the Dataset Context Menu.
The reason is because more image specifications need to be set. To export an image resource use the Convert Image tool.
Right-Click on the dataset in the datasetlist: Dataset Context Menu > Export Dataset To …
Steps to Export a Dataset
- Right click the dataset you wish to export
- Select Export Dataset To …
- The file browser opens
- Specify the destination directory and file name.
- Specify the storage format
Some supported formats can only store objects from one model.
If your dataset contains more than one model, the export to shp, kml/kmz and gpx will not be successful.

To export a dataset as Esri Shape file (.shp) the dataset must have exact 1 attribute set with at least 1 attribute.
